RAYLEIGH LIONS DONATES £3500 TO FUND ‘BLEED KITS’ FOR LIAM TAYLOR LEGACY .

with the Rayleigh Lions Club.
19 year old Liam Taylor was stabbed to death in Writtle, Chelmsford by several youths carrying knives in 2020. Since then his courageous grandmother, Julie Taylor, has campaigned and raised thousands of pounds to fund medical equipment that is saving lives.
The Liam Taylor Legacy has funded easy to use ‘Emergency Bleed Control Kits’ that can be used to save the life of someone losing blood.
Ideally bleed kits would be in every building open to and accessed by the public, eg pubs, restaurants, schools etc.
Each kit costs £102. Rayleigh Lions have donated £3500 to this great cause. That should fund at least 30 bleed kits in the Rayleigh and Rochford areas.
Bleed kits are saving lives all over Britain. In Essex alone 12 bleed kits have helped 13 people. Three of those injuries would have been fatal.
Julie also spends many hours warning people of the dangers of knife, including talking to convicted prisoners in jails.
