LIONS CLUBS HOLD SPORTS DAY AND FUN FESTIVAL FOR DISABLED PEOPLE.

Lions Clubs of South East Essex held their annual Sports Day and Fun Festival for Disabled People at The King John School in Benfleet on Saturday 28 July 2018.
The event was run by the Lions Clubs from Castle Point, Eastwood, Leigh-on Sea, Rayleigh and Southend on Sea.
They were assisted by Lions Clubs from Clacton, Billericay, Basildon, Thurrock and Wickford.
25 Disability Clubs and Groups competed including 43 ‘wheelchair users’, 11 ‘sight impaired’ competitors and about 150 ‘standing’ competitors, plus their helpers.
Teams came from the local area, ie Thurrock, Castle Point, Rayleigh and Southend, and also from outside Essex, ie Gosport, High Wycombe, Pinner, and Aylesbury (who won the cup overall). Overall around 450 people attended.
All competitors received a medal, with some winning several medals. The attached picture shows action from morning indoor events
